30th October - Halloween Party!

Little vampires and witches running amok at Amber and Alex's house tonight. Some tired little ones by 9 o'clock ready to return to their coffins, webs, casas and coverns!

23rd October - Safari suppers!

Great fun was had at the Jowetts and the Grunwells. Well done to Amber and Nicky for laying on such a wonderful spread!

19th October - Mountain rescue

It rained a little, then it rained a lot. There was mud, a ditch and getting a mannequin out of a soaking ditch. Colin the casualty didn't survive our best attempts at a rescue, but the guys and I certainly have lots of respect for the Scarborough and Rydale mountain rescue team after this Tuesday. Oh yes and we finished with curry. http://www.srmrt.org.uk/

Euro2010 meeting - Vimmerby, Sweden.

What can I say? Beautiful country, tasty crayfish, cheeky schnapps for breakfast and a load of drunken Europeans.
Richard, Simon, Stephen and I were lucky enough to experience this long weekend in rural Sweden, in the proecess making lots of new friends from Belgium Denmark, Finland, Germany and Sweden. The highlight of my stay had to be singing a toast to the crayfish as we ate, quickly followed by a shot of finish champagne (vodka), that was a hazy night.
Next year, sometime in June we will hopefully invited to Euro2011 in Belguim. A great chance ofr our guys to see whats expected of them in 2012....

Too many currys

17th - 19th September. 75th Charter and Aalten visit

Happy birthday to Scarborough 88, 75 years old and good to see some of the founding members at the party - Dominic and Andrew Pindar really look hide their age well. Super!

Cracking off at the Hatherleigh in Scarborough harbour, this converted deep sea trawler made the perfekt venue for a pirate themed party. Long after the white wine had run out the seadogs partied hard.

With some sore heads the group headed out to the scenic North Yorkshire Moors, stopping at Robin hoods bay to take in the salty sea air. After some searching around Goathland we all enjoyed fish and chips al fresco - not sure if the dutch were impressed with mushy peas.

That saturday night saw our gala dinner at the Scarborugh ruby club take place. Around 130 people enjoyed dancers, a three course meal, short speeches and the famous twinning cabaret acts!

Many thanks to the Crown Spa for a wonderful farewell brunch on the Sunday morning, I know I enjoyed a couple of bacon and sausage rolls!

2nd September - Business meeting.

It was at this point that we realised, there was much to sort and drinking beer wouldn't help matters. Beef butties provided by Jim, with Dom kindly hosting.

Camping weekend

The beautiful hills and valleys of the lakes were the setting for "camping" round table style.
Crates of beer, mountains of sausages and bacon and some kids with air rifles. Perfect.
